However, as it turns out, a creative way of preparing meals captured into short-videos can help to build a friendly and trustworthy image of a company.

There are many type of creative videos that can be used to present different styles, characters and soul of a restaurant. The 'Stop-Motion’ food video is the ideal style if you want a fast and straightforward way to present your company on social media.

Creating this kind of video can be very quick and even the simple camera on your phone can be utilised to produce a good video.

Plan & Do

Plan & Do

I have quickly sketched a storyboard just to control the photo-shot. This helps to get a roughly idea of how you want to make pictures and the main easy steps of meal preparation.

Then, it’s all a matter of our imagination.
How do we want our products and dishes to „dance” in the video, looking alive, fresh and delicious?

If you wonder how many photos are required to create the video, my suggestion is to take a picture each time you move/add/remove a product to make sure you’ve got everything covered in order to achieve the best result.

The more photos you will take, the better. You can always remove the excess of pictures during post-production. Eventually, would you rather prefer to have one missing important shot than a thousand unnecessary photos?

Edits

If you’ve used a professional camera to capture the process  you need a software to edit images. Processed pictures you can connect together to create your video.

I recommend starting with Lightroom and then transfer all the adjusted photos to Premiere Pro.

In Premiere Pro create timeline. 1920 x 1080, 24fps Next step is to transfer all pictures into timeline. Select all pictures and use „nest” to marge them together.

To control velocity of  the motion you can use Speed/Duration.

Adjust speed from 100% to 30-60%.

Next step is to add some music. Bear in mind while editing that the final result should have the video since to speed of your selected song.

To spice it up you can add some sounds effects to improve the quality of the video.

Lastly, if you want to refine your video, you can add some text animation.
I am creating them in the Adobe After Effects.

Now all you have to do is to export the video and post it on your social media.

Enjoy watching it over and over and over again… and be proud of what you’ve just created!
